An Introduction to Executive Functioning Skills (helping your child remember tasks, pause before acting, and adjust to change)
By the end of this course, you will:
-
Understand the three core executive functioning skills we all use every day (remembering tasks, pausing before acting and adjusting to change)
- Learn why some children and teenagers find these skills more difficult than others.
- Recognise the signs that your child may be struggling with one or more of these skills.
- Understand how these challenges can affect learning, behaviour and everyday life at home and at school.
-
Learn simple, practical strategies to help your child strengthen these skills and become more confident and independent.
Audience - foster carers, adoptive parents, special guardians, kinship carers and those carers of children with a child arrangement order.
These training sessions are designed to be welcoming and family friendly. There is no pressure to contribute unless you would like to, and any activities are entirely optional. Whether you choose to take part or simply listen, you will be made to feel comfortable, welcome and supported throughout.
